Artist’s Statement

It is not uncommon for someone to hear a warped version of the biblical saying, “if someone is not against us they are for us.” All too often this mutated version is used as an excuse to create an “us vs. them” ideology and it is meant to inflict harm on small groups within our society. As an artist, I strive to use my artistic creations as a means of spotlighting these ideological hypocrisies. I feel obligated to shine a light on injustice, using art as a means to effect change.
